Scandinavian airline SAS has confirmed that the delayed launch of its Copenhagen-Mumbai route will take place on 1 October.
The carrier had originally planned to start the route on 2 June but had to postpone the launch due to a delay in receiving final approval from Indian authorities.
In a statement, SAS said that “all operational and practical preparations are in place” for the Copenhagen-Mumbai route, which will mark SAS’s first flights to India in 17 years.
SAS plans to operate the year-round route five times per week using Airbus A330 aircraft, which are fitted with 266 seats across business class, SAS Plus (premium economy), and economy cabins.
Paul Verhagen, chief commercial officer at SAS, said: “This strategic route represents an extraordinary milestone for SAS, opening effortless doors between Scandinavia and one of the world’s most dynamic economic hubs.”
