United Airlines has launched a new route from London Heathrow to Boston as it continues to build up its transatlantic services.
The daily service between London and Boston is part of an expansion by United that will see it offer 22 flights per day from Heathrow to the US this summer.
United is serving the new route with Boeing 767-300 aircraft featuring both its Polaris business class cabin and Premium Plus seats.
Bob Schumacher, United’s director of sales, UK and Ireland, said: “We are excited about our all-new service between Heathrow and Boston, which provides our customers in the UK with even greater travel choice and direct access to Boston and the broader New England region.”
United has been able to launch the new route to Boston using airport slots temporarily released by British Airways and American Airlines as part of an ongoing investigation by UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) into the Atlantic Joint Business which includes BA, American, Iberia, Aer Lingus and Finnair.
Ross Baker, chief commercial officer at Heathrow, added: “United’s new Boston-London link is a great addition to its expanded operations at Heathrow and will give our passengers more choice in direct flights to the US.”
