Lufthansa is rebuilding its long-haul network from its second hub at Munich with new flights to Rio de Janeiro and San Diego, as well as the relaunch of the route to Bangkok all starting this week.
The German carrier is also restoring services from Munich to Mumbai, Toronto and Washington DC, which has helped to increase the Bavarian airport’s long-haul destinations to 21 routes this summer, which is 10 more than during summer 2021.
The new and relaunched long-haul services from Munich are part of Lufthansa’s wider expansion of services this summer.
Lufthansa’s long-haul flights from Munich will be operated by its fleet of Airbus A350s, which create 30 per cent fewer emissions than previous aircraft models.
Flights from Munich to San Diego and Rio de Janeiro will both operate up to five times per week, while the Bangkok service returns as a daily flight.
