Kuwait Airways is to launch a new route between Manchester airport and Kuwait from Sunday (1 May).
The service to the Middle East destination will operate three times per week on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. Kuwait Airways also offers connections to cities such as Bangkok, Mumbai, Delhi and Manila. The airline already flies between London Heathrow and Kuwait.
Ian Costigan, interim managing director at Manchester airport, said: “The announcement of another long-haul route coming to Manchester clearly shows the role we play in connecting the north to key global destinations.
“Not only do routes like these make travel easier, but they put the region on the international map for trade, economic and tourism opportunities, plus create a wealth of jobs in the process.”
The Manchester-Kuwait route will be served by Airbus A320neo aircraft offering both economy and business class cabins, including lie-flat beds in business.
Maen Razouqi, CEO of Kuwait Airways, added the airline was “expanding its network of operations around the world, with the launch of new and diverse destinations that suit the preferences of its customers and meet their aspirations”.
