British Airways is to launch flights to the Liberian capital of Monrovia this winter – the airline’s 19th African destination.
The three times-weekly service to Monrovia will commence on November 5, with flights departing from Heathrow’s Terminal 5 and routing through Freetown in neighbouring Sierra Leone.
The service will be operated by a three-class B767 offering World Traveller, World Traveller Plus and Club World seating.
Flights will depart Heathrow on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, returning on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Although the frequency will temporarily be reduced to twice-weekly between December 10 and February 4.
There are currently no direct flights between the UK and Monrovia. Brussels Airlines offers three flights per week, two of which route via Abidjan in the Ivory Coast, and Air France flies twice-weekly from Paris via Conakry in Guinea.
