American Airlines is to
restart nine routes to the US from airports across the UK and Europe during March
and April and will also launch a new service from Heathrow to Seattle.
On 27 March, daily services restart between Heathrow and Miami.
The next day, the airline resumes daily flights between
Heathrow and both Philadelphia and Los Angeles. Services linking both Madrid and Rome
Fiumicino to Dallas Fort Worth, Paris Charles de Gaulle and New York JFK,
Barcelona and Miami and Dublin and Philadelphia also resume that day.
From 30 March, the airline’s new Heathrow-Seattle service, operated
as part of its alliance with Alaska Airlines, will run three times a week. The
service will move to daily from 3 June.
On 4 April, daily services linking Milan and JFK restart.
“We will be here for
when our customers are ready to fly,” said Tom Lattig, American’s vice
president EMEA sales. “With cleanliness and safety top of mind, we have taken
extensive steps to ensure it’s safe to travel including earning STAR
certification from the Global Biorisk Advisory Council for our entire fleet of
aircraft, and all of our Admirals Club lounges."
