Marriott International on Thursday (17 November) announced plans to bring its luxury St. Regis brand to Australia following a management agreement with property development firm Gurner Group.
The St. Regis Gold Coast Resort is expected to open in 2027 in one of the country’s "fastest-growing cities" as part of a $1.7 billion mixed-used development known as ‘La Pelago’ located in city’s Budds Beach precinct.
The new-build hotel will feature 185 rooms, a specialty restaurant, sky bar, pool bar, lounge and spa.
“This signing of The St. Regis Gold Coast Resort in Australia is momentous for Marriott International, and a wonderful advancement for the destination,” said Richard Crawford, vice president hotel development, Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific for Marriott International.
“We appreciate Gurner Group’s confidence in selecting St. Regis as the centrepiece of its world-class mixed-use development.”
When it opens, the hotel will be the group’s fourth property on the Gold Coast, joining The Ritz-Carlton which is expected to open in 2026. Marriott currently operates 26 hotels in Australia.
