IHG Hotels & Resorts is growing its presence in Turkey with three recent hotel openings and an additional three hotel signings.
The 110-room Holiday Inn Trabzon East (pictured) opened in October, joining the newly opened Crowne Plaza Ankara, which has meeting facilities for up to 3,000 people, and the 259-room Crowne Plaza Istanbul Tuzla Viaport Marina.
Meanwhile, the 122-room Holiday Inn Express Ankara Airport will open this December, followed by the 140-room Crowne Plaza Istanbul Ortakoy Bosphorusin next summer and the 115-room Holiday Inn Erzurum, due to open in Turkey’s Eastern Anatolian region at the end of 2023.
“We are delighted to be seeing continued growth in Turkey with several signings across our brand portfolio during 2022,” said Willemijn Geels, VP of development, Europe at IHG Hotels & Resorts.
“Turkey is an important growth market for IHG, and it is clear to see that this upward trajectory of momentum will only build in the coming months,” she said.
The hotel group currently has 28 hotels in operation in Turkey and five in the pipeline, including the InterContinental Grand Ankara, set to open in 2024.
