Choice Hotels has updated its cancellation policy,
tightening some of its features.
For guests with existing reservations made prior to 10 July,
the policies that were in place at the time of booking apply. For new
reservations made directly through Choice on or after 10 July for arrivals on
or before 30 September 2020, guests will be able to modify or cancel the
reservation within 24 hours of the arrival date with no fees, however changes
are subject to availability and rate changes. Reservations made with pre-paid
rates are again no longer cancellable, changeable, or refundable. For new reservations
made directly with Choice on or after 10 July for arrival on or after 1 October
2020, the hotel's individual cancellation policy in place at the time of
booking will apply.
Marriott International added back some restrictions when it
updated its cancellation policy earlier this month. Hyatt Hotels, on the other
hand, extended its cancellation policy for direct bookings through 31 July
2021.
