BROOKLODGE HOTEL & SPA, CO. WICKLOW IS IRELAND'S AA HOTEL OF THE YEAR 2008
The AA in Ireland has named their Hotel of the Year 2008 as BrookLodge Hotel & Wells Spa, Co. Wicklow near Dublin. This is the most prestigious award in the Irish Hotel industry and it was announced this evening at a gala ceremony in Dublin.
Irish Tourism has been boosted in recent years by a large number of major investments in Hotels and Tourist products. All creature comforts are taken care of in the unique and relaxed Irish style. This year's winners have taken great pride in making sure that the Hotel and its entire surrounding village are as environmentally friendly as possible.
"BrookLodge is a hotel that the Irish industry can be very proud of." Says AA Ireland Director Dennis Fisk. "They have created a unique experience and have done so with an eye to both the business and the environmental future. Our Inspectors have been consistently delighted at the quality of service and the whole guest experience."
Three main awards are presented by the AA each year. This year's winners are as follows:
AA Hotel of the Year
BrookLodge Hotel & Spa, Macreddin Village, Co. Wicklow
After just nine years in operation this hotel has risen to the top of the industry; demonstrating the highest of standards in hotel keeping, and looking to a greener future in the Garden of Ireland.
The Doyle family have always had great plans for The Brooklodge. Having planned the golf course from day one, they opened their Paul McGinley designed Macreddin Golf Course on July 1st - a testament to the reinvestment and constant forward planning that makes the hotel stand out. The opening of Brookhall was another milestone for the Doyles, a sought after wedding destination, intimately set on the grounds of the hotel.
It is also set apart by its two complimentary passions - commitment to the environment, and first-class cuisine in the 2-Rosette Strawberry Tree Restaurant.
