EMIRATES AND JAPAN'S All-Nippon Airways are among the latest full-service airlines to announce plans to establish low-cost subsidiaries.
Emirates' new venture aims to take off within a year, while ANA's may not take to the skies until 2010. Although both will operate internationally, they will target regional markets.
Emirates' version will primarily serve the Indian sub-continent and East Africa.
All-Nippon appears to be focusing on China, and analysts believe it may buy an existing airline, rather than start one from scratch.
