BUSINESS TRAVEL AGENCY network ITP has launched a worldwide 'personal mobile itineraries' service in conjunction with Swedish communications company Traveas.
Clients of ITP's 40-plus members will be able to provide travellers with fl ight and airport information, hotel location maps, car rental details and even local weather forecasts, all via mobile phones and PDAs.
Traveas' TravelPlanner system automatically moves all basic information from a traveller's traditional printed itinerary to the mobile phone. The technology has been customised for each ITP partner's individual needs.
Virginia Palla, the agency network's general manager, said: "We aim to constantly provide our partners with the latest technology in order for them to be competitive in their own markets."
Kuwait-based Majestic Travel & Tourism is ITP's latest member. Established in the 1970s, Majestic operates throughout the Middle East and Africa, and claims "worldwide experience" in business travel, leisure travel, adventure holidays and medical tourism.
