LONDON'S LANGHAM HOTEL this year completes an £80 million upgrade.
Painstaking work on this iconic, listed London landmark building is being done to 382 rooms, all 15 function rooms (including the historic Grand Ballroom, which is being restored to hold gatherings of up to 375), the lobby, public areas and the celebrated Palm Court, where the tradition of afternoon tea was reputedly born over 140 years ago.
The transformation will be complete by March.
• LANGHAM HOTELS International (LHI) is to manage a new Langham Place property in China's Guangzhou Economic Development Zone (EDZ). The hotel, LHI's third in the country, opens in 2010.
