BRITISH AIRWAYS has unveiled its new First Class cabin on a Boeing 777 flight from Heathrow to Chicago.
The product will be tested for 90 days to obtain CAA approval. It will then be rolled out on another 73 aircraft across the airline's network. The premium service was due to be launched on BA's New York JFK service, but bosses switched to the Chicago route at the last minute to avoid poor weather forecast on the East Coast of the United States.
The airline, which is likely to post record losses for the second successive year, has invested £100 million in its new brand.
Meanwhile, BA's subsidiary OpenSkies has announced a Paris-Washington DC service will start in May. Flights will operate five times per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday), departing Paris at 12.00 and arriving at Washington at 14.45, before returning at 17.45 and landing back into Paris at 07.40 the next day.
