AMERICAN EXPRESS BUSINESS TRAVEL has unveiled a new hi-tech system that allows companies to review out-of-policy travel before tickets are issued. The customisable Pre-Trip Auditor boosts policy compliance by auditing all online and offline bookings processed by American Express.
When the system spots an out-of-policy booking, it automatically sends an email alert to the travel manager, giving trip details and highlighting the 'discrepancy'. The authoriser then has the option to approve, decline, or 'freeze' the booking for further consideration.
"With an increased focus on preventing costs at the point of sale, clients are looking for an end-to-end solution that allows them to implement quickly new travel polices as well as giving them maximum control over their travel and drive cost savings," said Paul Hargreaves, Amex's UK & Ireland vice-president and general manager, business travel.
