Airbus has completed its organisation-wide roll out of the KDS travel reservation system, u.go, which is now available to all Airbus employees and subcontractors in France, Germany, the UK and Spain.
Since its launch in October 2005, Airbus has seen a return on investment exceeding 200% due to lower fares and ”best buy” options on the KDS package, and with an average of 4,000 bookings per week for more than 60,000 staff, it is the busiest application of the u.go software yet.
The booking platform integrates the management process for all European air and rail, including low cost operators and the manufacturer”s own charter flights. When introduced to the Airbus organisation, the company was hoping for a 60% adoption rate, but due to internal communications during the implementation process, the figure has reached 80%.
”U.go has proved a great success for Airbus and, by providing the ideal technology platform, KDS has played an important part in this,” said Airbus travel technology manager, James Westgarth.
”Together, we have been able to deliver a system that gives a far more rational and efficient basis to our travel and has fully surpassed our initial goals. We are now targeting 90% user adoption across all travel and anticipate further important savings in the coming years.”
