Navan is building out its content offerings within the Swedish market via new integrations with Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) and multiple Swedish rail operators, the travel management company announced on Thursday (28 May).
The company has integrated SAS New Distribution Capability (NDC) content into its platform via a direct connection with the Nordic carrier. The integration provides “an expanded portfolio of SAS fares and services”, the TMC said, while bypassing the carrier's EDIFACT surcharge.
The carrier's NDC content is currently available to Navan customers in the Nordics, the UK, France, Germany, Ireland and Asia Pacific, with a planned rollout in the US “to follow”.
In an adjacent announcement, Navan has also added more than 20 Swedish rail carriers – including SJ and VR Sverige – to its platform through an API integration with SilverRail.
The move will provide Navan users with access to domestic rail content in Sweden, cross-border routes throughout the Nordic region, and tools for managing seat preferences and self-service booking modifications.
“We’re seeing strong momentum in Sweden,” said Navan chief customer officer Michael Riegel. “It’s a unique economy where you have this intersection of industrial companies, in manufacturing, maritime and automotive, colliding with a world-class tech and AI scene.
“Our growing number of customers in the market have been clear about what they need, a unified platform that makes travel seamless. By bringing Swedish rail directly into Navan, we’re answering the demand for local, sustainable travel options in one of Europe’s most important markets," Riegel said.
Navan reported a 26 per cent year-on-year increase in international business travel bookings to and from Sweden on its platform for the 12 months to 1 May 2026, surpassing the European average increase of 21 per cent.
