Wendy White has been appointed vice president of marketing and a member of the global leadership team at Egencia.
White has more than 20 years’ experience in marketing, having held roles at Centurylink, Intel, Microsoft, Motorola and more. She will be responsible for the company’s global marketing functions.
Rob Greyber, president of Egencia, said: “For Egencia to reach its aggressive growth goals, we need a world-class marketing organisation willing to make bold moves. We’re confident Wendy’s expertise will help us achieve this audacious goal. The passion and drive she exudes extend beyond her role, and we look forward to seeing her accelerate the path for the next generation of women entrepreneurs and business leaders within Egencia.”
White’s appointment follows the hiring of three additional female leaders at Egencia, including chief commercial officer Mieke de Schepper, interim managing director for APAC Verena Funke, and managing director for Australia Teresa Matheson.
Egencia says the appointments are in line with parent company Expedia’s commitment to diversity representation at all levels. The company claims it achieved 100 per cent gender pay parity for men and women in equivalent roles in 2016, with 35 per cent of senior leadership positions held by women.
White commented: “I’m proud to join a company that has been recognised for its commitment to fostering women in the workplace. Within the global marketing organisation alone, the diversity across gender and cultural background places us in the best position to address complex problems, improve decision-making, drive forward innovation and ultimately set us up for success.”
