Corrado Simontacchi
BT4Europe, the European network of business travel associations, has elected Corrado Simontacchi as chair, effective from January 2027.
Simontacchi will succeed Patrick Diemer, who co-founded the organisation in 2022 to give managed travel professionals across Europe a united voice with EU policymakers. Its advocacy work has focused on reducing A1-related administrative burdens, promoting consistent and comparable emissions data, and improving business travel data to demonstrate the sector’s contribution to Europe’s economy.
Brussels-based Simontacchi brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in finance, supply chain management and procurement, including more than 11 years as senior manager for corporate purchasing, goods and services, EMEA, at chemical manufacturer Huntsman.
He is also an executive board member of the Belgian Association of Travel Management (BATM), one of BT4Europe’s founding members, and works as an independent adviser and consultant to the business travel industry.
As chair, Simontacchi will focus on strengthening governance, encouraging active member participation, deepening stakeholder relationships and developing a sustainable, diversified funding base, according to BT4Europe.
BT4Europe thanked Diemer in a statement for “his commitment, energy and leadership throughout these formative years”. Diemer, a former AirPlus CEO, said he would continue to work as a board member, adviser and investor in business travel and payments.
