London has been named the top city for meetings and events by the American Express Meetings and Events 2015 Global Meetings Forecast.
The city retained its position ahead of Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam and Berlin.
The list is based on the activity of AMEX meetings and events clients:
1. London
2. Paris
3. Barcelona
4. Amsterdam
5. Berlin
6. Nice
7. Brussels
8. Rome
9. Frankfurt
10. Munich
London and Partners, the mayor's official promotional company for the city, head of business development, Barbara Jamison, said: "London is a world-class destination for meetings, events and incentive travel and we are delighted that the city's events industry has been awarded this latest accolade.
"London's connectivity and ease of access was underlined by American Express Meetings & Events and this combined with the city's rich culture and heritage, it's thriving tech, medical, creative and financial industries, and it's wealth of fantastic venues, makes London an exciting proposition for meeting organisers."
The data is from a report published earlier this week that warned meetings buyers to make the most of “squeezed” budgets next year as overall MICE spend is expected to decline.
The study showed despite a predicted increase of 1.2 per cent in meeting numbers, overall spend as well as individual budget and attendee numbers are all expected to fall next year.
UK budgets are set to decrease slightly by 0.7 per cent and overall meeting spend is predicted to decline by 1.1 per cent. This is in sharp contrast to the 4.8 per cent increase in meeting spend that was predicted for 2014.
