ATPI has won the contract to sell travel packages to next year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The TMC’s MICE division ATP Event Experts will manage and sell a range of packages combining tickets, accommodation and travel to the games, which run from July 23-August 3, 2014.
ATPI has been appointed as the official Games Travel Office (GTO) for next year’s event and will also help Visit Scotland and Glasgow City Marketing Bureau to promote the city and country in the run-up to the event.
The company will also be running a 24-hour help desk during the event to deal with accommodation and travel enquiries, as well as providing a dedicated service for officials, sponsors and the media.
Graham Ramsey, ATPI’s chief executive, said: “We are thrilled that our expertise in managing and organising the travel and corporate hospitality requirements for major sporting events has been recognised by the Organising Committee of Glasgow 2014 with the award of the contract to manage the Games Travel Office.
“We have an excellent track record in looking after the global family of sporting stars, officials, fans and corporate sponsors, so look forward to bringing the expertise we have from delivering 10 Olympic, Paralympic and Winter Olympic Games to this phenomenal event.”
Glasgow 2014 chief executive David Grevemberg added: “We are excited to be working with a company with such an extensive background in successfully delivering travel and event services in a wide variety of global events.”
