More than 80 per cent of UK-based corporate travellers are expecting to travel more frequently or at the same level in 2025, according to a survey commissioned bysecurity specialistWorld Travel Protection.
The poll of 500 travellers, which was carried out by Opinium, found that 39 per cent were planning to travel more this year with another 44 per cent expecting to go on a similar number of trips to 2024. Conversely, only 13 per cent of respondents expected to do less business travel in 2025.
Nearly half of UK travellers (44 per cent) said they expected to spend more on business trips this year, with a similar number likely to spend a similar amount as they did in 2024. Extra spending is most likely to be on improved levels of accommodation (39 per cent) and flying business class (33 per cent).
The survey also showed a focus on cost-cutting and sustainability with 35 per cent packing more meetings into a single trip to justify their travel expenditure.
While a similar number plan to travel on public transport more often this year and 37 per cent are feeling “increased pressure” to use the most sustainable form of transport on their trips.
