Electric vehicle provider Ufodrive has agreed a new partnership with B2B mobility solutions specialist CarTrawler.
The deal means that when customers book a trip through one of CarTrawler’s travel clients they will now have the option to add a Ufodrive rental vehicle as part of their trip. CarTrawler currently works with around 500 travel firms and 70 airlines, including easyJet, Swiss and Emirates.
Ufodrive offers electric vehicles from more than 30 locations in Europe and the US with self-service access to travellers through its app. Car rental giant Hertz became one of Ufodrive’s investors last year as the company embarked on a global expansion drive with the opening of new US locations.
Ronan Smyth, director of supply at CarTrawler, said: “Not only does this continue to deliver on CarTrawler’s ongoing sustainability goals and enhance our green content offering, but it also drives further innovation for our customers through their ‘straight to car’ technology, meaning customers can avoid queueing at a desk through using their phone to unlock the car.”
Aidan McClean, CEO and co-founder of Ufodrive, praised the quality of CarTrawler’s technology as the companies unveiled their partnership.
“When we realised they share the same vision for electrifying rental, they immediately became our first marketplace partner,” he added.
