Network Rail”s summer timetable begins on Sunday 20 May, with 66 more trains running on weekday services than on the current timetable and an additional 143 compared with last year”s schedule.
GNER is introducing a further six services in each direction between London Kings Cross and Leeds, creating a half-hourly service Monday-Friday. These trains will also call at Wakefield Westgate, Doncaster, Newark, Grantham and Peterborough.
London Fenchurch Street is to gain additional services in the early and late hours on c2c routes to and from Shoeburyness, Grays and Laindon, with more trains stopping at West Ham and Upminster.
There will also be two additional late evening services between Liverpool Street and Barking, while all other late night trains on the c2c network will depart from Fenchurch Street.
Central Trains are introducing Sunday services between Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Liverpool, with stops at Liverpool South Parkway for John Lennon airport.
Improvements to services in Scotland include peak summer trains on the Inverness/Kyle of Lochalsh line, with Wales to benefit from new hourly weekday services between Cardiff Central and Ebbw Vale.
