Eurostar has seen a huge rise in demand for rail tickets to the continent, as travellers attempt alternatives to flying after the grounding of all UK flights .
The rail company is warning travellers not to go to the station today unless they have a confirmed booking.
A Eurostar spokesperson told ABTN: "We've had thousands of calls since this morning, from people trying to make alternative arrangements."
On an average day, Eurostar receives around 26,000 bookings, but today this figure rose by 10,000.
Eurostar said there were just a few tickets left for travel today and tomorrow: "Our trains are extremely busy and the availability is very tight... It's evolving all the time.
"Tomorrow we already have low availability anyway, because Friday is quite a busy day for us. Going into next week, people are waiting to see what is going to happen."
People looking to travel should check Eurostar's website for availability.
