Eurostar has announced extra services running from next Monday to Thursday (September 22-25).
The extra tickets went on sale today (September 19) despite the train company running severely reduced services after a fire on a freight train last week.
Eurostar advised customers to book tickets via its website or an agent rather than telephone its call centre.
The train company said there was no extra availability either this weekend or next. (September 19-21 and 26-28).
Customers with tickets who decide not to travel will get a refund or be able to exchange them for travel at a later date, the train company said.
Eurostar has already warned customers to travel only if ”absolutely essential,” particularly at weekends.
Four airlines, BA, bmi, Air France KLM and VLM have put on extra capacity or flights to cope with the train disruption.
VLM released details today of one extra service daily between Brussels and London City all this week.
BA said it had increased capacity on flights to Brussels and Paris over the weekend and used larger planes for the early services to Paris.
The fire broke on a freight train about seven miles into the Tunnel from Calais last Thursday afternoon (September 11).
Eurostar advised travellers with essential journeys to arrive at their station and check-in as normal and they would be put on the first available train.
