When the price of flights varies so often it's difficult to know if you really got the best price. New technology is out there to help find a cheaper deal even after a booking has been made.
In the latest part of our series with the Business Travel Show, BTiQ caught up with Gili Lichtman, co-founder and VP sales and marketing at FairFly to hear how it's looking to save travel teams money. FairFly is competing BTS's Disrupt Award against Datasyrup, ReboundTAG, Transporters.io and TripCloud. Register here to attend and find out who wins.
When did you launch?
FairFly launched as a B2B product in August 2016.
How many people are working for the company?
Currently we have 16 employees.
Sum up what your company/product does in one sentence
FairFly leverages airfare volatility to maximise savings opportunities on business travel, post-booking and automatically.
Why is it unique?
It is the only product on the market to offer these features:
- Operation on a global scale, with multi-GDS and multi-currency support
- Price tracking through internal data sources and smart search algorithms, minimising hits to the GDS
- Expansion of savings opportunities by searching for identical, similar and better deals up until departure
- Automated rebooking, closing the full loop and taking advantage of savings around the clock
Our proprietary algorithms support all types of tickets globally and search for identical, similar, and better flight options taking the client's corporate travel policy and preferences into account. We also have a premium search feature which allows us to take the comfort of a client's flight into account and search for similar itineraries with a higher level of comfort (seat, duration, etc.). FairFly's technology takes into account airline cancellation fees, ticketing void windows, and all of our search options are personalised according to corporate travel policies, as well as an individual's desires.
What problem does it solve?
It is a solution to the multi-billion dollar problem of airfare volatility. The price of a flight fluctuates over 90 times from the time it was published to departure. Additionally, travel is one of the highest expenses that enterprises face and FairFly's price tracking algorithms search to deliver maximal saving on airfare up until departure.
What platforms is it available on and can integrate with?
FairFly operates through a simple GDS integration. We are integrated with Sabre and recently launched a new integration with Galileo.
What markets is it available in?
We operate on a global scale and therefore is available internationally.
Which companies are using it already?
We recently announced our partnership with Business Travel Direct and are currently working with several other TMCs and their corporate clients in the US, UK, South Africa, Israel and, recently, Hong Kong.
What do travel managers like about it?
Our solution maximises efficiency and automates processes that can take travel managers hours to complete. It provides travel managers with data-driven insights regarding corporate travel policy and rich benchmarking data. This data can be leveraged as an ongoing and automated price auditing tool. It gives TMCs an innovative competitive edge while enhancing efficiency and increasing customer satisfaction by securing the best prices for their customers.
What are your growth plans?
We are currently paving the way to becoming GDS agnostic and after our recent integration with Galileo, we are in the midst of integrating with Amadeus which will be live in a few months.
