Agreement in line with Amadeus and Travelport
Sabre Travel Network and easyJet have signed a distribution agreement consistent with "the model established with other global distribution services."
The airline's low cost content is now available across all three major UK GDSs after easyJet signed to Amadeus and Travelport's Galileo network in November 2007.
"The agreement is consistent with those made with other GDSs and follows recent moves by easyJet to reduce their Point Of Sale fees and discount Speedy Boarding for business travel bookings made via the GDS," a Sabre spokesman said.
"As such, Sabre is ready to support easyJet's distribution under the model established with other GDSs and is confident of a positive partnership between the two companies."
No details of booking fees have yet been released, however ABTN reported in December a deal by the Guild of Travel Management Companies (GTMC) to substantially reduce easyJet's GDS charges.
Under the deal, all TMCs booking via GDSs will incur a fee of €4 per sector, reduced from €12 per round trip booking.
easyJet also said bookings made through the GDSs for business travellers will qualify for a special rate for priority check-in and boarding.
Sabre said a "technical solution" is now underway, with details and timings to be finalised.
