easyJet weight facility available online
easyJet is to allow passengers to purchase extra weight allowance online for hold baggage in advance.
The extra weight will be available in denominations of 3kgs at a reduced rate of ”15 ($30) per 3kgs saving passengers ”3 when compared to payment at the check-in desk on the day of travel.
”Extra weight pre-payment is the latest facility easyJet has introduced to save its passengers time and money,” said easyJet product development manager Peter Gerstle.
Customers can now pre-pay for excess baggage at the time of booking, either online or on the telephone. Customers who wish to pay for excess baggage after they have made a booking can only do so via the contact centre.
Gerstle added: ”easyJet.com has been designed to make life easier for its customers providing the greatest range of functionality and convenience in advance, making the process of travelling through the airport much quicker and hassle free.”
Malpensa
In addition, the airline has celebrated the arrival of its 11th aircraft based at Milan Malpensa Airport and announced the airline”s further expansion at the North Italy airport.
”We are investing ”600m to make Malpensa one of the best connected airports in Europe,” said easyJet chief executive Andy Harrison. ”By January 2009 we will have a fleet of 15 aircraft in Milan.”
