The US Department of Transportation (DOT) has given the formal go-ahead to United Airlines, Continental Airlines and ANA for their trans-Pacific joint venture.
Now they have received anti-trust immunity from the DOT, the three airlines will start developing joint flight schedules and sales activities.
Jeff Smisek, president and CEO of United Continental Holdings, said the joint venture will mean “a more convenient, more seamless experience for travelers on both sides of the Pacific”.
The joint venture is due to launch in the Spring of 2011.
