IHG Hotels & Resorts is to open a new Hotel Indigo in the Greater London suburb of Kingston upon Thames.
The hotel company said that the 90-room Hotel Indigo London – Kingston is due to open in 2027 when it will become the seventh Indigo property in London.
The new riverside hotel in Hampton Wick will form part of the redevelopment of Kingston Bridge House, which was formerly used as university accommodation. The property is owned by Westcombe Group, through its Acre Hotels Collection brand.
Willemijn Geels, IHG’s VP of development, Europe, said: “We are delighted to welcome Westcombe Group to IHG and bring Hotel Indigo to the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames in the UK. This signing reflects strong owner demand for Hotel Indigo in the UK and Ireland.”
The Hotel Indigo brand was founded in 2004 with the number of properties doubling from 100 in 2019 to more than 200 worldwide this year.
