Thistle Hotels is to invest more than ”100m ($199m) to re-brand and upgrade all 32 of its UK properties, with the first 25 to be ready by June.
The group will refurbish bedrooms and public areas, upgrade meetings and events services, and staff training is underway to ensure a first class service experience for guests.
Thistle believes the new corporate identity will give the brand a more informal contemporary feel.
”Our portfolio has an excellent presence throughout the UK with properties in the best locations in the UK”s leading cities,” said Thistle Hotels chief operating officer, Chris Gillett. ”However, in a few areas our product was a little dated and required investment.”
”The total investment is the largest in the brand”s history and follows extensive customer research to ensure our positioning and identity reflects what our customers want.”
Across the brand, high-speed wireless connectivity will become standard, as well as flat screen televisions with satellite TV, and there will be investment in dining - there are currently 11 Thisle hotels with AA rosettes, and this is set to increase.
