A partial evacuation of Heathrow’s Terminal 5 took place today (March 10), when armed police stopped a man carrying a suspect package.
Passengers and staff were cleared from the departures concourse at Terminal 5, as police searched a bag.
Some flights were delayed earlier this afternoon, but operations have now returned to normal.
According to reports, the man involved in the incident was detained by police, but not arrested and has since been released.
BAA released a statement saying: “The Terminal 5 departures concourse has now been reopened following an earlier police incident. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to passengers while police attended this incident.”
