Operations at Gatwick and Edinburgh airports are beginning to return to normal today, but the snow is still causing flight cancellations and delays.
Gatwick airport was able to reopen this morning, after two days of snow forced the airport to cancel flights.
However, the airport has warned passengers to expect delays and cancellations.
In a statement on its website, Gatwick said: “It is likely to take a few days before flight schedules return to normal. Train services to and from the airport continue to be limited and road networks are likely to remain severely affected by the weather.”
Edinburgh airport has also been able to reopen, after being closed for four days. Flights continue to see some cancellations, however, as well as significant delays.
London City airport had to cancel flights this morning due to low visibility, but flights are now beginning to operate.
Southampton airport has confirmed it will not be operating flights before 1pm today, due to “icy conditions ont he airfield”.
The airport said: “Staff are working very hard to clear ice from taxiways, aircraft stands and walkways, and grip testing is taking place on the runway at the moment.
“However, there is likely to be disruption to flights later on today and passengers are asked to contact their airlines for the latest information.”
Heathrow airport is open, but some flights are being delayed or cancelled due to snow at other airports.
Glasgow and Manchester airports are similarly warning of flight cancellations due to disruption elsewhere, but the airports themselves remain open.
