Silverjet has announced healthy February figures, with an improved load factor of 64% - up 10% on January ” as it sold 8,829 of 13,800 available seats on its services to Dubai and New York.
And having dropped from a peak of 209p last March to 15p last month, the share price has risen above the 20p mark once more.
”Our load factor is particularly encouraging given the shorter month and February half-term,” said Silverjet CEO Lawrence Hunt. ”The Board is making every effort to ensure that the airline will achieve its first month of operating profit and be cash-generative in March.
”Forward bookings remain strong for both our New York and Dubai service which is further testament to the market endorsement of our product. We continue to see a very high number of repeat customers ” on our New York service, it”s more than 25% of customers.”
The Luton-based airline also reported that 87% of flights departed within 15min of their scheduled time, which Hunt said was ”the most punctual on both our routes.” He said Civil Aviation Authority figures showed his airline was top for the third consecutive month for on-time departures to New York, and for the second month in a row to Dubai.
