Silverjet has agreed to buy two further Boeing 767 Extended Range aircraft from Thomsonfly Limited, for delivery in March 2008.
Both aircraft are capable of flying long haul up to 6,000 miles (9,600km) allowing the business class only carrier to operate routes further a field ” for example, to Delhi, Johannesburg, Shanghai and Los Angeles - from its Luton Airport base. The aircraft can carry 100 passengers.
Silverjet says its November traffic stats are its best to date, with record sales on its Luton-Newark route. Passenger figures on the Luton-Dubai service ” launched on 18 November - are ”already exceeding expectations”.
