Scandinavian Airlines Systems has agreed to purchase up to 40 Airbus widebody aircraft, the carrier announced on Tuesday (30 June).
With a list price of more than $10 billion, the deal is the "largest investment in the company's history," according to SAS.
The
order will be composed of Airbus A330-900neo aircraft with three cabins
and up 287 to 303 seats, and A330-300 aircraft with three cabins and
250 to 290 seats, according to SAS.
The new planes will "support SAS'
future long-haul operations, while additional capacity secured for the
coming years will support continued network development and demand
growth."
