No-frills carrier Ryanair plans to trial pre-booked seating on its flights from Dublin and Gatwick to Malaga.
From May 16, passengers flying on the routes will be able to pre-reserve seats in the front two rows, or in the over-wing rows, for a fee of €10 each way.
The new option is in addition to Ryanair’s priority boarding service, which costs €4 and means passengers can get the first choice of available seats.
Ryanair’s Stephen McNamara said the front seats would “ensure a prompt exit on arrival”, and the over wing rows would offer extra legroom.
“If this new service proves popular with passengers then we will roll it out selectively on other Ryanair routes in the coming months,” he said.
