Manchester airport will see four new routes with Ryanair this summer, plus increased frequencies to Dublin.
The no-frills carrier will start flying from Manchester to Faro, Madrid, Alicante and Tenerife from April 14.
Flights to Dublin will increase from four to six flights daily, also from April.
The expansion of Ryanair at Manchester could spark a price war, after Ryanair’s Michael O’Leary has vowed to undercut other airlines at Manchester.
He said Ryanair would be "saving passengers over £6m in 2011 on the fares offered by Manchester’s high fares airlines.”
Ryanair’s five Manchester routes will deliver 600,000 passengers in 2011 and sustain 600 jobs at the airport, he added.
