As part of its expansion plans, Qatar Airways has unveiled its new winter schedules for 2007/08 with additional European capacity.
The Doha-Geneva route has been upgraded with an additional flight taking capacity up to five services a week.
In addition, Qatar”s New York service, operated via Geneva will also see its capacity increased to five flights a week.
”Our new Geneva and New York services has proved extremely popular in just four months since launch.” said Qatar CEO, Akbar Al Baker.
”Demand has necessitated us to increase capacity to these destinations this winter.”
Later on this month the airline will launch four-times weekly non-stop services from Doha to the Swedish capital Stockholm, making the airline the first from the Gulf region to serve Scandinavia.
Included in the expansion are aircraft on the Moscow and Berlin routes, which will be upgraded from the Airbus A300 to the new two-class A330s, offering more seating capacity.
Baker added, ”We are committed to delivering the best possible levels of service to our passengers through our in-flight product, additional frequency and new routes.”
