Qantas” new Premium Economy product is for sale on flights from Australia to Los Angeles.
Seats will be available on selected services from Sydney to Los Angeles from 14 November and Melbourne to Los Angeles from 19 December, with return fares (including taxes) starting from AUS$3,999 from Sydney and AUS$4,080 from Melbourne.
Qantas introduced the new cabin to its fleet in February on several routes including Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore, Johannesburg and London.
”Customer feedback on Qantas Premium Economy cabin demonstrates a clear place for a product of this type and quality,” said Qantas executive general manager John Borghetti. ”Forward bookings show high levels of demand.
”The service also includes priority check-in, dedicated cabin crew, an additional hand baggage allowance, and priority boarding and disembarkation.”
Premium seats are 19.5” wide with a 9” recline and up to 42” pitch, with ergonomic cushioning and adjustable headrest, and an in-arm touch screen video monitor. It offers a new menu and wine list, and pre-take off refreshments including Champagne.
Borghetti said Premium Economy will be added to services to Buenos Aries, New York and San Francisco during 2009.
