IHG's new EMEA appointments
The InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) has appointed three new senior executives to complete its re-structuring of its EMEA sales team.
Rick Harvey Lam takes on the newly created role of vp commercial for continental Europe; Christopher Hale has joined as vp marketing and commerce EMEA; and Karin Nielsen is the new vp brand development and delivery EMEA.
Mr Harvey Lam joins IHG from Center Parcs Europe where he was marketing director Europe. Previously he worked for the Walt Disney Company.
His role will be to lead the integration of the chain's sales, marketing and revenue management for continental Europe.
Mr Hale joins from the Collinson Group where he was marketing director and launched its Priority Pass brand.
He previously worked for BA and Telewest Communications.
Ms Nielsen has switched from IHG's Asia Pacific operation where she was director of sales and marketing.
In her new role, she will lead the brand development teams for Holiday Inn, Express by Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza and Staybridge.
Kelly takes senior role at Amadeus
Richard Kelly has been appointed the new business development manager for Amadeus UK.
He joins the travel IT company from Cornerstone Information Systems.
Before that he had worked form, Multiple Communications Limited and Galileo.
His new role will be to manage and develop third party relationships with software providers.
Fehérváry promoted by Malev
Géza Fehérváry has been promoted by Malév, the Hungarian national carrier, to be its new chief operations officer.
He takes over from Péter Krauth who will continue as a pilot and also be involved in key strategic projects.
Mr Fehérváry joined Malév in 1982 as a student pilot. In 1986 he was made co-pilot and he became a captain in 1996.
In January 2002 he was appointed Malév flight director.
