BAA has opened ten new fast track check-ins at Edinburgh Airport.
The Common User Self Service (CUSS) check-ins are currently available only to Air France KLM customers.
But British airline Flybe is expected to start using the new ”300,000 touch-screen facilities later this month.
Passengers need a passport barcode, credit card, frequent flyer or transaction number to prove their identity for a boarding pass to be printed.
The terminals are aimed at passengers with hand-luggage only, but ”fast bag drop” desks are available for travellers with suitcases.
David Lister, Edinburgh Airport”s customer service director, said: ”We expect the self-service option to prove especially popular with frequent flyers and business travellers.”
”The new kiosks enable us to increase the capacity of our check-in hall as further additional flights take-off at Edinburgh.”
Mr Lister said 27 new services are expected by the end of the year, with more than nine million passengers passing through the airport in the same period.
