Manchester Airport is to close Runway 2 for three weeks due to routine maintenance work.
Scheduled engineering checks will take place from 5 until 29 February.
All aircraft will take off and land on Runway 1 during the closure, which has been planned to coincide with the airport”s quietest period.
”This is important but routine engineering work and we have chosen to do this during February which is traditionally a slower time before the busy summer period,” said Manchester Airport managing director, Andrew Cornish.
Cornish added, ”We hope to be able to manage all the aircraft on Runway 1 and don”t expect this work to cause any significant delays. We”re firmly committed to maintaining our high levels of service to both passengers and airlines and are mindful of the impact on the community.”
