Lufthansa has announced plans to recruit 4,000 new employees in Germany, showing full faith in the recovery of the aviation industry.
Some 2200 flight attendants are to be recruited this year, as well as 900 ground service staff, 270 trainee pilots and more than 300 students into other areas.
Speaking to German newspaper Bild, Lufthansa’s CEO Christoph Franz said: “Lufthansa is to grow.”
He said that while the airline is recruiting new staff to cope with the expansion of passenger capacity, Lufthansa continues to work on efforts to reduce operating costs.
Franz took over the helm of the company on January 1.
