Austrian low-cost carrier Lauda has launched flights between Birmingham and Vienna, which will operate three times a week.
Services are operated on an Airbus A320 on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Flights depart Vienna at 1705 and land in Birmingham at 1830 local time, with return journeys leaving at 1905 and arriving at 2220 local time.
CEO Andreas Gruber said: “We are delighted to offer our passengers a new non-stop service from Birmingham to my hometown Vienna and expand our route network. Lauda allows passengers to explore the most liveable city in the world for an unbeatable price.”
Tom Screen, aviation director at Birmingham airport, added: “Adding Lauda to our existing airline offering is just fantastic. It was great to welcome passengers flying with the airline for the very first time from Birmingham to the popular destination of Vienna... We hope to see many more passengers take advantage of the route with Lauda and look forward to our future with the airline...”
The airline is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Ryanair Group.
