LOT Polish Airlines will start three-times weekly flights from its Warsaw hub to Donetsk from June 3.
Donetsk, in eastern Ukraine, is the fourth-largest city in the country with a population of 1.6 million.
LOT said it expects the route to be popular with transit passengers travelling via Warsaw to the rest of Europe and North America.
The move supports LOT’s new strategy to create an Eastern European network.
From Warsaw, flights will leave on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10.30pm, arriving at 1.40 am.
From Donetsk, flights will depart at 4.50am and arrive at Warsaw at 6.20am.
