LOT Polish Airlines has announced it will launch direct flights between Warsaw and London City airport (LCY) on 7 January 2019.
The route will operate up to twice daily and LOT said it will acquire four new Embraer 190 jets for the flights, which offer 106 seats each.
The service will depart London City every day except Sundays at 0715, arriving in Warsaw at 0900 local time, with return flights leaving at 0930 and landing at 1300 local time. There will also be a London City departure every day except Saturdays at 1615, arriving at 1800 local time; return flights leave Warsaw at 1830 and land at 2200 local time.
LOT says the new service allows business travellers flying to or from Warsaw, as well as Vilnius, Kiev, Lviv, Riga, Bucharest, Larnaca and Tbilisi to complete their journey within one working day.
The route will also create alternative connections to points east of Warsaw served by LOT, such as Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing and Astana.
Adrian Kubicki, director of corporate communications at LOT Polish Airlines, said: “We are extremely happy to announce this prestigious destination as our 100th connection in our network. LOT has a long-lasting history of operations to London Heathrow, where we are flying three times a day. Now we are opening the new chapter by putting two daily flights to London City into our offer. London City is the most convenient airport for those passengers [wishing] to get to the City of London in the shortest and most comfortable way. I am... certain that this new connection will be appreciated by our passengers, particularly from the CEE region, and is going to be one of the most successful routes in our constantly growing network.”
