Alaska Airlines is to introduce two new European routes from its hub at Seattle in 2027 as the carrier builds its long-haul network.
The US airline is planning to launch summer routes from Seattle to Paris Charles de Gaulle and Athens airports from May 2027 using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
The expansion follows Alaska Airlines commencing flights in summer 2026 from Seattle to London Heathrow, Rome and Reykjavik in Iceland. It also flies from Seattle to Seoul and Tokyo.
Alaska Airlines will become the first carrier to operate non-stop flights between Seattle and Athens from 12 May. The airline will operate three weekly flights on the seasonal route until late October 2027.
The new Seattle-Paris flights will operate from 25 May with five services per week until the end of October. Alaska will compete directly with Delta and Air France on this key transatlantic route.
The airline’s long-haul expansion is set to continue as it receives more Dreamliner aircraft from Boeing, with ambitions to add at least five more intercontinental destinations by 2030.
Alaska Airlines’ Boeing 787-9s are fitted with three cabins, including 34 business class suites with lie-flat seats, plus a premium class with extra legroom.
