Japan Airlines (JAL) says it will expand its business class style to more US routes and for the first time on Asia services.
The carrier”s Executive Class Seasons cabin crew will no longer serve meals in the traditional way using a trolley, but each passenger will instead be waited on individually.
Customers will also receive personal attention from the same cabin crew member, from boarding to disembarkation.
JAL first introduced this type of service on its Tokyo Narita- Chicago rotation this July and will shortly expand it to flights to Los Angeles, San Francisco, New Delhi and Singapore.
Next year, selected European routes will feature the new business class style, while it will also gradually roll out across all Asian and US flights, excluding Hawaii.
A touch of Japan on board will also see JAL serve rice from the Niigata prefecture and which is cooked prior to meal service using a specially adapted microwave. The airline says that rice is normally cooked prior to departure, cooled down and then reheated on board.
